US Media Turning Postive Towards Mexico

US Media Turning Postive...

Since the lifeblood of the real estate industry in Mexico is tourism, an article in USA Today last week is fantastic news. Tourism to Mexico in 2010 is nearly equal to the record number of tourists in record-breaking 2008 and up almost 19% over 2009. This bodes very well for the real estate industry in Mexico for 2011. Take a few minutes to read this article and forward it on to potential clients and other agents. Spread the good word. It has been my experience that people who have been coming to Mexico for many years are still coming down because they know Mexico is a safe place to visit. People who may be considering coming down to Mexico for the first time may be fearful of coming to Mexico because they only know what they are reading about - the drug violence. Based on this article, I would say that in addition to the long-time Mexico visitors, there must also be a fair number of new visitors coming to Mexico as well. ...

Hacienda Restaurant and Nursery: The Best Way to Start your Trip

My first trip into the wine country was a beautiful sunny day.  The weather in comparison to the beaches is moderately warmer.  Here you can expect days where the temperature soars well into the 90’s.  So make sure you dress accordingly.

As we first ventured onto the highway which is the wine route, we came across a big sign which read “Hacienda Restaurant and Nursery”.  We were all a bit hungry after skipping breakfast with the strong desire to get to our destination.  We decided this would be a perfect start since it was located right at the beginning of our journey.  You turn right off of the wine route following the sign stated before.

As you pull into the parking lot, you will see the beautiful nursery awaiting you.  The nursery is filled with all types of local and non local plants and flowers.  This is the entry way to the restaurant.  There is also a beautiful fountain in the middle of the nursery which can be seen to your left as you walk past the two lion statues guarding the entrance.

As you make your way to the back you will be greeted by the hospitable workers at the entry to the outdoor dining area.  The area is well shaded with big beautiful trees, and can be a bit chilly.

We sat down and were immediately greeted with a selection of small muffins.  The menu is extensive and has a wonderful assortment of international cuisine.

Things such as Eggs Benedict and Eggs Florentine really capped off the wonderful selection of breakfast items.  I decided on the French Toast which came accompanied with seasonal fruits, eggs, and bacon.  It was a very large breakfast that left me feeling satisfied and ready to start my journey through the beautiful wine country.

I would personally recommend this place to anyone who decides to take this trip.  It is a wonderful starting point due to its location, and it’s a great place to dine and talk about the day you have in front of you.

The prices are fair and the service is excellent.  It has a newly finished entry way which is paved making the drive very easy from the turn off.  The ambiance is well worth the visit alone.

  • Location:  San Antonio de las Minas, Baja California
  • Directions:  From the Coast, take the RUTA VINICOLA (route 93) into the wine country and drive about 15 minutes.  When you come to the first town (San Antonio de las Minas), at the light, make a right (There’s only 1 light in town).  Go about 5 streets and make a left where you see the Hacienda sign.  Drive on the dirt road for about 100 yards, drive through the river ravine and the Hacienda is on the right side.  It’s an out of the way place so if you think you’re lost, you’re not.  It’s rural…enjoy!
